My name is Ineke de Meijer and I am a passionate artist who creates paintings, illustrations and animations. For me, painting is more than just an art form; it is a powerful way to tell stories and express emotions.
My work reflects my experiences and feelings, and I draw inspiration from everyday situations and the nature around me.
Connection through Art: New Perspectives and Shared Stories My art is a means for people to discover new possibilities and perspectives, making them more open to each other’s stories.
By sharing stories and recognizing feelings and situations, I create a space where viewers feel acknowledged, seen and comforted. My goal is to foster the feeling that no one is alone in their experiences.
In my paintings, which explore emotions, the everyday, and nature, I use subtle imagery and surprising color combinations.
The intensity of watercolor paint combined with black ink on paper amplifies the message of connection and solidarity.
My work focuses on the collective "we," inviting viewers to share their own stories and be open to the stories of others. I believe art has the power to connect communities and create a sense of belonging.
Through this connection, I hope to open a dialogue that leads to understanding and empathy.
I currently work full-time as a visual artist. Previously, I worked for years in (special) education, where I was able to share my love of creativity and expression.
